His Royal Highness’ appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister following Royal Decree Number 14 for the year 2013, which stipulated that His Royal Highness would assume responsibility for developing the Executive Authority’s performance.

The establishment of the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister

The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (OFDPM) was established following Royal Decree Number 26 for the year 2013, and also appointed His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as Director General of the OFDPM at Undersecretary level.

The OFDPM is one of the main drivers behind economic and social development in Bahrain. Under the leadership of His Royal Highness, and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, a key priority for the OFDPM has been to support the implementation of a series of projects and initiatives, which focus on delivering sustainable development to meet the needs of the Kingdom’s citizens and residents.
