Faisal Isa Hammad

Faisal Isa Hammad – University of Bahrain

Faisal is an Assistant Professor at the University of Bahrain (UOB). His job includes teaching, scientific research, and curricula development. Faisal is the first certified AWS Academy Instructor making UOB the first AWS Academy in the MENA region.

Faisal holds a PhD in Management (Information Systems) from the University of Nottingham, UK, a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from George Washington University, USA, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Bahrain.

Faisal’s hobbies include following Formula 1 races, listening to audiobooks and drawing on glass.

Ali Hasan Sharaf

Ali Hasan Sharaf - Tatweer Petroleum

Ali is a Senior Data Scientist at Tatweer Petroleum, focused on leading the company's advanced analytics and cloud transformation. Ali endeavors to pursue a career focusing on utilizing data for better decision making and cost reductions.

With direct involvement in developing, managing, and integrating systems ranging from exploration, drilling, and production, Ali has had the opportunity to work closely with local and international experts across multiple disciplines. Ali is also an active member of Bahrain's Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has published a number of oil industry research papers.

Ali holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. His interests include adventure travel and building artificial intelligence models.

Hasan Saeed Abdulaal

Hasan Saeed Abdulaal – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Hasan works as a Third Secretary at the European Affairs and European Union Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is responsible for analyzing political trends across Europe, developing plans to foster bilateral relations with European states, as well as preparing for bilateral consultations and high-level visits.

Hassan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance from Bahrain Polytechnic. His interests include technology trends, sustainable development and travel.

Maryam Ahmed Haider

Maryam Ahmed Haider – Northern Governorate

Maryam works as an Investment Specialist at the Northern Governorate. Her job focuses on working with Government ministries and other entities involved in the ongoing projects within the Governorate in the fields of education, housing, health, and transportation. Maryam has had the opportunity to participate in many specialized committees related to the development of the quality of various public services provided in the Governorate.

Maryam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Finance from the American University of Dubai. Her interests include traveling in addition to reading novels and biographies.

Ali Khalid Al Araifi

Ali Khalid Al Araifi – Ministry of Interior

Ali is an International Relations Specialist at the Ministry of Interior, where he oversees coordination and cooperation with corresponding foreign security bodies.

Among his tasks is liaising with representatives of foreign ministries of interior on shared initiatives and areas of mutual cooperation, in addition to initiating and communicating with international security agencies.

Ali holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, both from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

His interests include policymaking in the realms of security, politics and economics, as well as reading on topics related to negotiation, security and soft power.

Safeya Mahmood Janahi

Safeya Mahmood Janahi – Labour Fund “Tamkeen”

Safeya is a Business Development Officer at the Kingdom’s Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, specializing in the assessment and development of businesses in the healthcare and education sectors.

Safeya’s responsibilities include conducting business assessments on various enterprises in Bahrain to assist in their growth. She provides business owners with feedback, support, subject matter expertise, and sector knowledge to enable them to develop their human capital and entrepreneurial activities.

Safeya holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Statistics from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Safeya is passionate about voluntary work and promoting equal opportunities, in addition to travel.

Ahmed Sami AlTajer

Ahmed Sami AlTajer – Ministry of Housing

Ahmed works as a Senior Civil Engineer in the Housing Projects Construction and Maintenance Directorate at the Ministry of Housing.

Ahmed has been involved in a variety of strategic housing projects within the Kingdom, where he had the opportunity to supervise the day-to-day construction activities, ensuring its quality and delivery on time at the budgeted cost.

Ahmed holds a professional certificate in Project Management (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, a Master's Degree in Construction Project Management from the Heriot Watt University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bahrain. His interests include reading about new developments and innovations within the engineering and construction fields, as well as travelling.

Alaa Abbas Alderazi

Alaa Abbas Alderazi – National Audit Office

Alaa is a Senior Auditor in the Administrative Audit Directorate at the National Audit Office. Her work involves conducting in-depth data analysis, evaluating internal control environments, assessing auditees’ compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and drafting audit reports and recommendations.

Alaa holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification from the AICPA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Bahrain. Her interests include auditing and accounting and self-development.

Roaya Jalal Khalaf

Roaya Jalal Khalaf – Ministry of Health

Roaya is a doctor at Salmaniya Medical Complex, completing her radiology residency training. As a first-year radiology resident, she is involved in performing radiological procedures, interpreting patients’ image findings, communicating with other hospital personnel, and teaching medical students. She received her medical degree with first class honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Bahrain in 2014 after obtaining a full scholarship.

Being an avid supporter of cross-cultural communication, she was selected to be one of the six Bahrainis to join the Middle East Partnership Initiative, an intensive leadership-training program in the US for undergraduate students that is fully funded by the US Department of State.

This was then followed by completing a year of internship training at Salmaniya Medical Complex. She was selected as an alumni ambassador for RCSI-Bahrain and was involved in running interactive workshops on campus, and in venues and schools within the GCC region.

Roaya is the first Bahraini to obtain a Master of Science in the field of Clinical Neuroscience from King’s College, UK, earning her the Silver Medalist Award, after having ranked the second in class and was shortlisted by her department for the 2018 IoPPN PhD Studentship.

Roaya’s research, alongside her team, in the field of motor neuron disease yielded the discovery of the ‘split-elbow’ sign, earned her two awards from the Stanford School of Medicine that includes the Margaret Rock Memorial Award.

She is currently a peer reviewer for the BMJ journal. Her interests include teaching and medical research, and she hopes to pursue further higher studies in the fields of neurogenetics and cancer genetics. Roaya enjoys photography and reading.

Sofia Adel Dairi

Sofia Adel Dairi - Education and Training Quality Authority

Sofia is a Qualification Specialists at the Education and Training Quality Authority. During her tenure at the BQA, she was responsible in conducting Administrative Checks, training of External Evaluators and Validators, Producing Verification Reports and overseeing Validation Reports and Validation Events.

Additionally, Sofia teaches in the fields of Management, Science, English and Soft Skills. Sofia holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management with Honours, both from the University of Portsmouth – United Kingdom.

Sofia enjoys reading and traveling and exploring different cultures.

Dana Mohsen AlShemasi

Dana Mohsen AlShemasi – Ministry of Finance and National Economy

Dana works as a Financial Analyst at the Public Revenue Policies Directorate. Her main responsibilities include analysis of oil & non-oil revenues, budgeting & forecasting, costing of government services, non-oil revenue initiatives proposals & implementation process and analyzing international best practices of financial policies. Dana also works on presenting public revenue policies and figures for international rating agencies such as the S&P and the IMF.

Dana is passionate about her role in contributing to the government sector and the community. She enjoys various kinds of sports & exploring new cultures.

Dana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from Ahlia University.

Fatima Khalid Al-Rahma

Fatima Khalid Al-Rahma – Electricity and Water Authority

Fatima is a Financial Resource Specialist, at the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA). Her role includes processing all the revenues and payments related to EWA’s commercial sales, analyze and research internal control issues to ensure smooth flow of operations and help in developing new policies.

Before joining EWA, Fatima worked at an audit firm where she participated in forensic engagements, internal and external audit for different industries within Bahrain.

Fatima holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from University of Bahrain. Her interests include exploring new cities, reading and drawing.

Ahmed AbdulAziz Buasali

Ahmed AbdulAziz Buasali - Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning

Ahmed is a Senior Civil Engineer in the Roads Panning and Design Directorate, at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

Ahmed works on managing and coordinating strategic roads projects with the preparation of preliminary road schemes and Traffic Impact Studies. He also worked as a part timer at Bahrain TV as a TV presenter on the Kingdom’s English TV Channel - Channel (55).

Ahmed holds a Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bahrain. He enjoys traveling to new places, being exposed to diverse cultures and horse riding.

Futoon Abdulrahman Alammadi

Futoon Abdulrahman Alammadi – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Futoon is a Third Secretary at the Human Rights Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specializing in the preparation of national human rights reports submitted to treaty bodies.

Futoon’s responsibilities include coordinating and attending bilateral and multilateral meetings, responding to international parliaments, and drafting and delivering national statements at the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Futoon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Bangor, UK. Futoon is passionate about learning new languages; along with Arabic and English she speaks French and Turkish. Her interests include horse riding and traveling.

Ahmed Saleh Mejairan

Ahmed Saleh Mejairan - Labour Fund “Tamkeen”

Ahmed works as a senior consultant at the Kingdom’s Labour Fund- “Tamkeen” where he is currently pursuing a career in project management.

His work consists of strengthening Tamkeen’s engagement with its customers through activities arranged and developed by himself. Ahmed also worked with projects that carried the mutual interest of Tamkeen and its partners. The latest was the energy saving initiative and healthcare workers.

Ahmed had a direct involvement in managing Tamkeen’s Community Engagement Initiative.

Ahmed holds a Professional Diploma in Leadership and Strategic Management from the Chartered Management Institute, UK. He also Holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Huddersfield University UK and Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Development from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. Ahmed enjoys travel, as well as reading historical, scientific and technical news.
