The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (OFDPM) today held a remote graduation ceremony honouring the fifth intake of the First Deputy Prime Minister Fellowship (FDPM Fellowship).
During the ceremony, the Director-General of the OFDPM, HE Shaikh Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, noted that the FDPM Fellowship is centred around achieving the aspirations of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister.
HE the Director-General affirmed that the Fellowship has again succeeded its objective of upskilling young Bahrainis working in government, as demonstrated by the high-level of competent graduates returning to their workplace.
HE the Director-General commended the Fellows for their assiduous dedication to the yearlong Fellowship, which saw them addressing the global spread of COVID-19 from the forefront of government efforts in the COVID-19 Operations Room.
HE the Director-General recognised that the expertise rendered, and the connections forged, during this yearlong Fellowship will create a knowledge-sharing network in which collaboration and productivity are the gold standard.
On behalf of the Fellows, Dr. Faisal Hammad, Assistant Professor at the University of Bahrain, extended the Fellows’ gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince for his ongoing support to the Fellowship.
Dr. Hammad also expressed the Fellows’ appreciation to HE Shaikh Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Director-General of the OFDPM, and the Fellowship’s mentors for providing such a valuable learning experience.
Dr. Hammad noted that the FDPM Fellowship’s demanding requirements have enabled Bahrain’s youth to engage in the government’s decision-making processes whilst serving stints on different priority initiatives, therefore developing expertise that will improve government productivity.
